Joe Sichta
American writer and director Joe Sichta has contributed to animated television and video throughout his career, including a number of titles in the animated Scooby-Doo series from Warner Brothers. Following Sichta's graduation with a degree in cinema from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1992, he soon started working in television animation. He first directed on episodes of the superhero cartoon series "Static Shock" in 2002. From "Static Shock," Sichta moved to another Warner Brothers children's property, Scooby-Doo. Sichta wrote, produced, and directed the 2004 animated video "Scooby-Doo and the Loch Ness Monster." He went on to fulfill all of those roles in three more Scooby-Doo animated videos. Additionally, he wrote and produced another title, the 2009 video "Scooby-Doo and the Samurai Sword," which was directed by Christopher Berkeley. During much of that same period, Sichta also directed episodes of the animated TV series "What's New, Scooby-Doo?," which ran from 2002 to 2005. This was the first Scooby-Doo television series since "A Pup Named Scooby-Doo" ended in 1991. After Sichta's extensive work in the Scooby-Doo franchise, he contributed storyboards to the adult-oriented animated TV comedy "Bob's Burgers" before directing episodes of the animated television show "How to Train Your Dragon," a series based on the hit movie.
