Juvenile
American rapper Juvenile grew up in Uptown New Orleans, Louisiana, and started making music as a teenager. His debut album, "Being Myself" (1995), earned him local notoriety. Two years later, the album "Soija Rags" (1997) saw some national success, and Juvenile joined the hip-hop group Hot Boys, alongside fellow rappers B.G, Turk and Lil Wayne. Together, they released the "Get It How U Live!" (1997) album in the same year. It was Juvenile's next record, "400 Degreez" (1998), however, that really propelled him to national fame, eventually becoming his best selling album. His next musical endeavors during the 2000s remained successful, reaching the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 200. Personally impacted by Hurricane Katrina, he helped raise funds and supplies for those impacted by the natural disaster. The event influenced much of his music in the aftermath, like the album "Cocky & Confident" (2009). Despite some trouble with the law and personal tragedy, such as the murder of his daughter and her mother, the rapper continued to release new music. In 2021, Juvenile was awarded a key to the city of New Orleans.
