Kevin Bright
A native New Yorker, Kevin S. Bright is best known for producing and directing the popular sitcom "Friends." The son of performer Jackie Bright, he began producing television specials in the late 1970s, including a number of comedy shows. During the early '90s, Bright worked as a supervising producer on the sketch-comedy series "In Living Color," and formed a production company with writers David Crane and Marta Kauffman, who created the TV sitcom "Dream On," the series that gave Bright his first shot at directing. In '94, Crane and Kauffman worked with Bright to premiere "Friends," which went on to become one of the most successful television comedies of all time. Overseeing "Friends" for a decade as an executive producer, Bright also directed more than 50 episodes of the series, and later worked in the same roles for the spin-off "Joey." Following the cancellation of "Joey," Bright moved back to Boston, where he had attended college, and embarked on a teaching career.
