Laëtitia Eïdo
French actress Laetitia Eido burst on the world's scene playing Dr. Shirin-El Abed on "Fauda" (Netflix, 2015-). Classically trained in Paris and New York, she began her career on the stage. After appearing in short films in France, she made her television debut in "Hero Corp." (2008-), playing Indian superhero Eshana. Her profile in her home country expanded further when she played Cleopatra in the TV miniseries "The Destiny of Rome" (2011). Her English language debut followed when she appeared in the U.S. cable production, "Strike Back" (Cinemax, 2010-18). Small film roles followed back in France in the features "Article 23" (2012) and "Volle comme un papillon" (2012). She took on a larger role in Eran Riklis's drama, "Dancing Arabs" (2014), marking her first foray into Palestinian-Israeli relations. The actress earned universal acclaim playing historical figure Lalla Fadhma N'Sourmer, an Algerian woman who fought against the French, in "Fadhma N'Soumer" (2014). She returned to television, appearing in the miniseries "Yes I Do" (2017), playing a bridesmaid who authors a bachelorette party adventure. She next appeared in the feature "Holy Air" (2017), as the wife of a Christian Arab living in Nazareth. Her role as Dr. Abed in "Frauda" brought her additional international acclaim. Her character, a Doctors Without Borders physician who moves back to Israel from Paris, becomes embroiled in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The series was named Best Drama series twice by the Israeli Television Academy. She then appeared in the Israeli show business comedy "Tel Aviv on Fire."
