Originally from England, actress Michelle Arthur has become a well-known figure in American movies and television. Training at the Actors Centre in London and earning her first screen role in a 1987 television adaptation of Jane Austen's "Northanger Abbey," Arthur attracted Hollywood's attention with a brief appearance in the 1995 James Bond installment "GoldenEye," followed by a comedic turn in 1997's "Clockwatchers." The actress's first recurring role in a television series came in 2002 when she played Abigail in "Alias," and for the next few years she found steady work lending her voice to video games such as "X-Men Legends" and appearing in popular series like "Lost" and "Grey's Anatomy." A big break came in 2005 when Arthur played Jim Carrey's secretary in "Fun With Dick and Jane," leading to parts in the blockbusters "Mission: Impossible III" and "Happy Feet," and another role alongside her "Fun With Dick and Jane" co-star Jim Carrey, as Sybil in the 2007 thriller "The Number 23." From 2007 to 2009, Arthur played her most high-profile role yet, as Lola in the TV comedy "Head Case," a series she also co-wrote with co-star Alexandra Wentworth. In 2011, Arthur appeared in the feature "Thin Ice" with Greg Kinnear and on the "Grey's Anatomy" spin-off "Private Practice."
