A major talent both behind and in front of the camera, Mikey Day rose through the ranks of improv and sketch comedy with stints on various Nick Cannon shows before landing a staff writer role on national institution "Saturday Night Live" (NBC, 1975- ). Born in Orange County, CA in 1980, Day studied Theatre at UCLA and subsequently honed his comic skills as a member of Los Angeles-based troupe The Groundlings. Day made his acting debut playing US Navy ensign O'Shea in the final season of spin-off "Angel" (The WB, 1999-2004) and following one-off appearances in "Faking the Video" (MTV, 2004) and "Reno 911!" (Comedy Central, 2003-09), he forged what would prove to be a long-running working relationship with Nick Cannon as a writer and performer on sketch show "Wild 'N Out" (MTV, 2005- ). Day took on a similar role on Damon Wayans' "The Underground" (Showtime, 2006) before bagging the lead role of Charlie in '80s teen movie parody "Totally Awesome" (2006) and attracting attention with online spoof "David Blaine Street Magic" (2006). After reuniting with Cannon on short-lived sketch show "Short Circuitz" (MTV, 2007), Day enjoyed his first recurring role as Selma Blair's electrical worker husband Craig in "Kath and Kim" (NBC, 2008-09), a US remake of the Australian hit sitcom of the same name. Day then moved into children's TV as a writer and performer on animated series "MAD" (Cartoon Network, 2010-13) and sketch comedy "Incredible Crew" (Cartoon Network, 2013) before he was hired to join the behind-the-scenes team of "Saturday Night Live" (NBC, 1975-) in 2013. During his stint on the iconic show, Day also wrote and provided voices for multiple episodes of "Robot Chicken" (Adult Swim, 2005-), worked as head writer and cast member on Maya Rudolph and Martin Short's attempt to revive the variety show format, "Maya & Marty" (NBC, 2016- ) and co-penned his first feature film, "Brother Nature" (2016), a comedy about an uptight politician whose marriage proposal plans are derailed by his madcap potential brother-in-law.
