      Birthplace: Zimbabwe

Sibongile Mlambo was a Zimbabwean TV actress who was best known for her roles in "Teen Wolf" (MTV, 2011-17), "Black Sails" (Starz, 2014-17), and the 2018 Netflix remake of the science-fiction classic "Lost in Space" (Netflix, 2018- ). Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Mlambo's professional acting career began when she was six years old when she appeared in the dramatic film "Kini & Adams" (1997). The film was shot and produced in Zimbabwe, thus allowing Mlambo to appear in her first film without ever leaving her country. After "Kini & Adams" was released in 1997, Mlambo spent the next several years focusing on her schoolwork. She ultimately left Zimbabwe in 2005 and moved to the United States to pursue her schooling. During this period, Mlambo lived in Texas and New York. She left the U.S. in 2011 to live in South Africa, but returned shortly after to once and for all pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a professional actress. Upon her arrival in the U.S., Mlambo settled in Los Angeles, and immediately began auditioning for film and TV roles. By the mid-2010s she nabbed a guest spot on the Showtime spy series "Homeland" (Showtime, 2011- ), and followed that up with supporting roles in the films "While You Weren't Looking" (2015), "Back to School Mom" (2015), and the dance drama "Honey 3: Dare to Dance" (2016). Then, after playing Eme in a recurring role on the Starz Network's "Black Sails" for three years, Mlambo landed her first big break in TV when she was cast on the MTV series "Teen Wolf." She played Tamora Monroe on the final season of the popular series. But if 2017 was a breakout year for Mlambo, 2018 proved to be even bigger. In addition to joining the cast of the Freeform series "Siren" (Freeform, 2018- ), she also began playing Angela on the 2018 Netflix remake of the classic 60s science fiction show "Lost in Space." Furthermore, in addition to the two television shows she was appearing on, Mlambo also appeared in the crime thriller "Under the Silver Lake" in 2018.
