Tamara Geva
Tamara Geva was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. In 1924, she left the Soviet Union with her husband and the Soviet State Dancers troupe. In 1927, she performed in New York with the touring revue Chauve-Souris. In 1936, she performed on Broadway with Ray Bolger in the Rodgers and Hart musical "On Your Toes." In 1935, she appeared with the American Ballet. Geva began her career with a role in "Manhattan Merry-Go-Round" (1937). Geva also appeared in "Orchestra Wives" (1942) starring George Montgomery. Later in her career, Geva worked on the drama "Specter of the Rose" (1946) with Judith Anderson. Geva's husband was George Balanchine. Geva passed away in December 1997 at the age of 91.
