Veerle Baetens
Veerle Baetens is an actress, director, and writer who is best known for her roles as Elise in "The Broken Circle Breakdown" (2012) and as Sylvie in "The Ardennes" (2015). She was born on January 24, 1978 in Brasschaat, Belgium. Some of her early credits include the feature film "De Kus", released in 2004, as Ann Marai on "Loft" (2008) and as Mathilde Carmain in "Un début prometteur" (2015). Baetens won a Tribeca Film Festival Award for Best Actress in a Narrative Feature Film in 2013 for "The Broken Circle Breakdown". Veerle Baetens made her directorial debut with "When It Melts" (2023), a film for which she also penned the screenplay, adapting Lize Spit's novel of the same name.
