The sci-fi thriller Push is visually flashy but hyperkinetic and convoluted.

Yasha R Anybody who gives this movie a bad reading needs to reconsider because it's awesome. Please help me change these incorrect ratings. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/24/24 Full Review D E Not sure why this gets bad reviews. It's a cool sci-fi movie. Want a few that actually work. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/14/24 Full Review Anderson O I saw this with a group of church goers and this movie was terrible. Even the youth pastor on multiple occasions was saying the movie stunk. The pacing and slow motion was out of balance, I didn't get the full narrative, and seemed poorly executed at best. Among one of the worst comicbook Adaptations of the time. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/24 Full Review Seveible P Not perfect but I think this could've became a long-running series of films with the potential that the "Push" world had. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/15/23 Full Review Red T The best way to describe this is if someone took the X-Men concept and mixed it with the Bourne Movies and Jumper. While this is much more watchable than Jumper without feeling sick its just about the same end result. The acting is terrible especially Fanning who 90% of the time does nothing but rattle off plot exposition and talk in a condescending way towards Evans. The villian is terrible also who is emotionless and is super boring as well on top of the dumb Asian Guy screaming henchmen. There is way too many characters in this. I don't understand the motivations for pretty much the netire cast becuase the plot is so strange, loose, and convuluted it is almost impossible to follow for 85% of the runtime. The editing is atrocious because it's it jumps around constantly to scenes here they just rattle off plot expose or do something that is completely new to what was just explained while trying to be a Bourne Thriller. This leads into why the cinematography is terrible. Almost no scene has any ground rules or limits for how these different kind of superhumans work. They explain in a boring 2 minute expose at the start what each is but never show it and its very hard to decipher who is what class or who is fooling who. This ambiguity as to who is what meta human type on op of the extremely convuluted thriller plot makes every scene almost impossible to understand because almost nothing is visual based and poorly explained in a monotone way that never flows properly. This also looks like its trying to be a Bourne movie asetically and isn't anywhere as good. The music isn't good either and is boring and generic or over the top and doesn't fit. This all leads to horrifcally bad pacing as the convuluted plot, poor editing, unlikeable characters, all start to collapse almost within he first 20-30 minutes under its own weight. It felt like this just ended as well and the climax fight felt almost pointless as well. There is no way anyone should watch this. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/20/23 Full Review Alejandro C Push is one of the most entertaining, fresh, agile, and intelligent movies ever made. When the superhero genre was not as massive as it is today, it took some elements and created a smart plot that relies on good acting and storytelling instead of huge CGI effects.
