Steve D simply passable entertainment no matter the version. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/27/23 Full Review Josh G What if there was very little kung-fu, a bunch of random sex scenes and more gun fire than plot. Now mix this with this with no humor and a lack of everything enjoyable, on my quest to watch 80's action films this disappoints. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Not great but ok. Lot of nonsense. Full of over-the-top camp and action cliches and cop cliches and New York cliches and 80's cliches and Jackie Chan cliches. The tone was not right, and it felt really boring. Not fun or cool. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Hollywood directed this terrible JC outing. Very sub par. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member While definitely a B quality film, I do tend to like Jackie Chan in less comedic roles, so I liked the more serious tone. Though I admit to chuckling the first time he said 'give me the fucking keys" - cuz its so far from his typical movie character. But it was great watching him move and perform physically in this film without the mugging of his comedies. He was an amazing athlete and it shows. Too bad Hollywood didn't take full advantage of his abilities and talents back then - when he had SO much to offer. I've seen some of the Hong Kong action stunts that Jackie re-shot - would have made a huge improvement to the American version. I know its not a favorite for lots of people, including Chan, but ignoring the dated dialogue and limitations by the director, I still found it entertaining enough for an 80s cheap cop film. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Fun actioner. Probably the hardest edged Chan ever got in action. Very bloody and hearing him curse as much as he does in this, just feels off. I liked the teaming of Chan and Aiello. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Read all reviews
