Audience Member Pretty good if it catches you by surprise, not today though. Would be great for a remake! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member When I saw this, I actually believed that this was actually happening. The raw emotion portrayed by the actors is just too real for a movie, especially one made for mainstream media. I have fallen in love with this movie, and easily consider it to be one of my favorites. This is the best cliffhanger ending to a movie I've seen so far. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member An interesting perspective on a course of actions set in motion while the news cameras follow. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Considering this was a made for TV halloween movie based sort of on the War of the Worlds idea it's not bad nor great but would have been a very good bit of entertainment if you'd have been stuck on halloween 1994. Given 4 stars based on it's quality on a 1994 level, today it'd score a 3 as it's dated. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Those madcap CBS TV executives! On Holloween this was aired 1994, basically sprung on tv viewers much as the much earlier War of the Worlds radio broadcast of Orson Welles. The gravity of this meteor blast upon the world was given credibility by using the then respected and well known television CBS reporter Sandy Vanocur. Its pretty graphic and credible even today when we know this is just a tv movie. This took real nerve to air this one, even though it was Halloween. I can't either. First off, the movie. Without Warning kind of blew me away. It was so sad. It was a made for tv... The film is presented mostly in real time as if it were an actual breaking news event, complete with remote reports from reporters. The executive producer was David L. Wolper, who produced a number of mockumentary-style films from the 1960s onwards but is best known as the producer of "Roots" and "Roots: The Next Generations".--- RT 2 ...when it originally premiered, the movie had warnings during the commercial breaks stating that the film was completely fictional, and that the events were not actually happening. 3 Some accused CBS of being irresponsible in showing the movie during the primetime hours, when some children were still out trick-or-treating, but very few occasions have happened since Orson Welles' 1938 The War of the Worlds radio broadcast that so many people have been taken in by a production such as Without Warning. 4 Without Warning is an American CBS TV movie, directed by, featuring veteran news anchor Sander Vanocur and reporter Bree Walker as themselves covering a breaking news story of three meteor fragments crashing into the Earth's northern hemisphere. 5 The film, which premiered on Halloween night, October 31, 1994, is presented as if it were an actual breaking news event, complete with remote reports from reporters.
