About all that can be said about The Mistress of Spices is that actress Rai manages to retain a straight face while uttering some of the most risible dialogue ever heard in a supposedly serious drama.

I enjoyed this because even though it has a silly premise, it's interesting to see how something that we use on a daily basis, can be used for other means! Not to mention all the uses for them. The colors are also quite vibrant...

aishwarya rai is a beautiful woman and dylan mcdermott is a very handsome man, but i don't understand this movie because the back stories of the characters i found to be confusing and i never understood why tilo, aishwarya rai's character, talks to spices and chili peppers and is forced to give up her "life for spices" when she spots doug, dylan mcdermott's character, a good-looking archeitct with whom she eventually falls head over heels for. although i found this movie to be somewhat confusing, i will say this, i love the tastefully done sex scene between rai and mcdermott. all in all, it's an okay movie, not saying that it sucks, but i give it an average rating.
