Mr. B My uncle wrote this movie so I kind of have to rate it five stars lol. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/27/23 Full Review Joe R I loved it. It is a highly under rated movie. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Just love it so much Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member 10/10 for the efforts Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a little gem. I rewatched it again after several years in between and it totally holds up. It's silly, clever, giggle funny, so relatable (to me anyway), heartwarming and heartbreaking. It's a well constructed little film with colorful yet believable characters and it moves along nicely. Casting is absolutely perfect. I have to single out one particular scene, however, between the main character, Adam, and his mother and father in the family kitchen. Its tenderness and vulnerability are, imo, right up there with the best acting I've ever scene in gay cinema. Hell, in any cinema. Of course, these great actors are reciting some very well written lines. It's one of those you remember. If you're looking for a sweet movie to lift you up a bit in these troubled times - and there's zero wrong with wanting a little mental respite on occasion - clock out for an hour and a half or so, kick back and enjoy yourself. If nothing else, the eye candy will rot your teeth out. Enjoy! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Fun movie! Perhaps not for those who either have never experienced or maybe purposefully forgot what growing up in a small town and running with a pack of boys was like. There's a funny, sweet clumsiness in 4th MAN OUT that isn't often captured in film, much less in gay films. And yes, too cool for school cinema sophisticates, it's a buddy movie. Deal with it. Many of us have (or had) buddies, you know, childhood friends we grew up with who's opinions of us (and ours of them) did and do mean a great deal to us. That's one of the reasons we call them "friends." Is it Oscar material? Can't say it is. But hey, how many BROKEBACK MOUNTAINs are ever made? (Answer: Not enough.) Is it enjoyable and tinder and thoughtful and maybe even a little silly? Absolutely! And if you're not careful, you might even get caught up in it. So pull down the popcorn bowl, crack open a few brews, put on (or take off) your gay flannel shirts, kick ya feet up, and enjoy. (Warning: this film is also VERY easy on the eyes. …Just sayin'.) Have fun! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Helen T. Verongos New York Times [A] tender, funny, but none too daring film ... Feb 5, 2016 Full Review Inkoo Kang TheWrap Outdated, unfunny and unappealingly bro-y, this Outfest favorite only works if you're invested in one very specific way of being gay. Rated: 40/100 Feb 4, 2016 Full Review David Lewis San Francisco Chronicle This briskly edited film never fails to be entertaining, and appealing to all audiences. Rated: 3/4 Feb 4, 2016 Full Review Ben Turner The Pink Lens As Buddy Movies go, this certainly has an edge, but where its initial scenes take tentative steps into interesting territory, it doesn't take long before it finds itself wandering into tired narrative tropes and a clichéd vilification of effeminacy. Rated: 3/5 Sep 2, 2021 Full Review Alexander Ryll Gay Essential 4th Man Out is a heartfelt coming-out comedy with genuine true-to-life awkwardness felt between lifelong friends, family and community as they support the sexual orientation of one of their own.
