Parker Young

Birthday: Aug 16, 1988

Birthplace: Tucson, Arizona, USA

Parker Young worked his way up the Hollywood ladder playing characters named Handsome, Hunk #1 and Ryan 'The Body' Shay but went onto prove he was more than just a pretty face and a six-pack by displaying a charm, sweetness and warmth which subverted the usual jock stereotype. Born in Tucson, AZ in 1988, Young first developed a passion for drama while he was the captain of his Varsity football team and with the support of his family, moved to Los Angeles after graduating from high school to pursue an acting career. Following his on-screen debut as a delivery man in the soap opera "Days Of Our Lives" (NBC 1965-), Young landed parts in straight-to-DVD horrors "Gingerdead Man 2: Passion Of The Crust" (2008) and "Nightfall" (2009), played Jo's fake boyfriend Travis in an episode of "Big Time Rush" (Nickelodeon 2009-2013) and guested on teen drama "Make It Or Break It" (ABC 2009-2012) and procedural hit "CSI: NY" (CBS, 2004-2013). But he entered most viewers' radars when he was cast as Ryan Shay, the loveably dumb quarterback who has an on-off relationship with Tessa in likeable sitcom "Suburgatory" (ABC 2011-14). Young then showed up as Jim 'Handsome' Hanson, the track star who emasculates Pete Campbell during a driver's ed class, in the "Signal 30" episode of "Mad Men" (AMC 2007-2015) before continuing to play up to his pin-up status by taking on the role of bachelor Ross Freeman in the murderous dating show satire "Killer Reality" (2013) and occupying one of the revolving chairs as a real-life celebrity contestant looking for love on "The Choice" (Fox 2012). Cast as Private Randy Hill, the youngest and most gung-ho of three brothers stationed with a troop of misfits at a Florida Army base, Young grabbed the chance to further showcase his comic timing in the critically-acclaimed but under-watched sitcom "Enlisted" (Fox 2014-) before adding to his filmography with the Drew Barrymore-produced chiller "Animal" (2014) and teen comedy "Sex Ed" (2014).
