Courtney Button Starburst Aimy in a Cage is an annoying frenzy of a film that will push your patience further than any film should. Rated: 1/10 Dec 23, 2015 Full Review Andrew L. Urban Urban Cinefile It's a film of arresting images, often surreal and fantastical, a visceral work that is void of physical violence yet violent in other ways, absolutely committed to its creative chaos Dec 8, 2015 Full Review John Noonan FILMINK (Australia) Starting off light and comedic, Aimy in a Cage is a trap that lulls unsuspecting viewers with its Wes Anderson visuals and Roald Dahl storytelling. Nov 17, 2015 Full Review Elias Savada Film International Fans of twisted independent cinema might celebrate Aimy in the Cage, and it is a beautiful film to behold, but the damn thing is madder than Alice's Hatter! Rated: 3/5 Nov 16, 2015 Full Review David N. Butterworth La Movie Boeuf Imagine an extended episode of "Pee-wee's Playhouse" with the volume cranked to 11. That's this celluloid version of the "Aimy Micry" comic book. Rated: 1.5/4 Nov 15, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member This movie actually made my head kinda hurt . I knew from the very opening scene this was just going to be a bunch of art house mumbo. Throw is glovin as a semi lead role and it was confirmed . The acting was fine and I’ll give a few points for originality 2.1. It’s a Wes Anderson movie minus most of the talent and much messier Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/28/21 Full Review Audience Member I don't really have the words to describe this film. So I'm just going to share seven things I know about it: 1) It is utterly jaw-droppingly amazing. 2) It had its world premiere at the Portland Film Festival, which is where I saw it. 3) Director Hooroo Jackson financed the film with bitcoin. 4) Jackson won the Best Director award at the Portland Film Festival. 5) This film was inspired, in many different small ways, by Ken Russell, Terry Gilliam and the Disney Channel. 6) The title character, Aimy, is a free spirit and an artist whose family doesn't understand her. So she goes crazy. During an apocalypse. Possibly during the 1970s. It's basically the story of every teenage girl who has ever lived. 7) I absolutely adored this film.
