William Watts (Stuart Erwin) is the proud owner of Romance, Inc. With the help of his loyal secretary, Cynthia Douglas (Rochelle Hudson), Watts has turned his matchmaking enterprise into a lucrative business. But there's trouble afoot: Cutthroat exec "Big" Barney Nolan (Berton Churchill) wants to buy his company. When Watts refuses, Nolan schemes to pressure him into selling out. Meanwhile, Watts' ex-wife, Allie (Pert Kelton), comes back into his life with some demands of her own.
