Becca O Beautiful story about being lost and finding love. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/24 Full Review Audience Member Amazing indie lesbian movie! I love how real and raw it is- nothing feels forced. It's about a woman called Sarah around 18 who has lived with her family her whole life in a boring suburban area, where everything is plain and there's no self expression. She then meets a drifter Latina woman called pepper who works at a strip club- this is when Sarah's begins to discover her sexuality and they become friends then develop crushes. They become more intimate and make love. Pepper then leaves as she doesn't commit to one place- she drifts and couch surfs. After Sarah's romantic experience with pepper, she realises her conservative boring town isn't for het and she leaves the town too see what else is in the world. The movie is solely about these two sapphic women forming a connection, there's not much dialogue but it is so peaceful and there's nude scenes but it's not portrayed in a major sexual way- more about intimacy and freedom, which is refreshing from the eventful movies I always see. It reminds me the movie below the mouth but I think this movie is better. It is an indie so it's not for everyone but if you want to watch something peaceful, cute and gay - this is for you. I really enjoyed it, P.s Dianna agron (the one in blonde) is a gorgeous, stunning, beautiful goddess!! She's so talented- please watch her movies!! And she does a hot strip tease in this Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Still Technically have yet to review a 2017 movie and I seem to gone backwards two years. I think it is the first proper review of an Indi film BUT I think there was one way back when I started these reviews....either way this is BARE. A story line that has been done before, A young girl names Sarah (Dianna Agron) lives in a small Nevada desert town with her mother and works as a cashier. Has a dead beat boyfriend and then town is basically on a loop cycle of the same normal life being lived. Till one day a co-worker gets her fired where she meets a drifter girl, Pepper (Paz de la Huerta), Sarah fascinated by Pepper, is drawn into her way of living quickly experiencing everything that comes with it. She realizes not long after though this life is dangerous and not something you can just simply hide away. The pacing is very slow for something I am use to, but it wasn't in a look at your watch kind of slow. The movie moves along well enough that the story and actors make you want to stay invested. Definitely GREAT cinematography! There is a scene in the desert where Sarah is taken something and is having what we can assume is the "rush" that comes with it and it is something that really sticks out. The Reno scene at the casino is very similar. Very well shot movie. Dianna Agron, I love Dianna. No secret there, Glee, I Am Number Four, The Family and probably anything else she is in....except The Hunters even then I stayed to see her scenes..... anyway. I think she needs to be noticed more for main stream films. Gone to a completely different place from Glee, Veronica Mars and Heroes, being typecast as a pretty cheerleader and gone to another level. Plays it as a completely innocent normal girl who is then stripped of her innocence. Never heard of Paz de la Huerta before but she does a really great job in this. As a Drifter, Dealer/User character. Feeling that this is exactly the way it would be. Not to say there isn't other actors or actresses in this but it just really shows off the two main leads talents. Natalia Leite has done it very well possibly has experienced this in real life before to be that insightful or is just really good at re telling a story of others accounts. So Bare, actually a decent film if your into Indie Films, wasn't to sure about what to rate or even say about it, thinking it might be a 2 1/2 but having gone over the points I think it deserves a look and a 3 to go along with it. 3 Stars. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member For a movie about strippers and lesbians there's BAREly any nudity. You tricked me NetFlix. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't know why this movie is rated so poorly. It has its flaws, but I thought it was a great film. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Bare is lacking a compelling story that does very little to connect to the characters. Both girls are okay, but the relationship is rushed and then ends before you care. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Katie Walsh Los Angeles Times Leite directs the film with a distinctly feminine sensibility, and the meandering sexuality between Pepper and Sarah is so hazily intoxicating, you'll root for the girl-next-door to run away with the drug dealer. Nov 7, 2015 Full Review Neil Genzlinger New York Times Ho-hum. Yet another movie goes looking for wisdom and insight in a strip club, and yet another movie fails to find them. Oct 29, 2015 Full Review Abbey Bender Village Voice The environment says more than the characters ever do. Oct 27, 2015 Full Review Ren Jender Bitch Flicks [Dianna] Agron and [Paz] de la Huerta have great chemistry and unlike many similar films about young women together, Bare doesn't shy from showing these two characters having sex and, at least on Sarah's part, falling in love. Mar 7, 2019 Full Review Erika W. Smith Bust Magazine Though you'll recognize familiar tropes, [Natalia] Leite's direction and Dianna Agron's performance mean that Bare is interesting in a way that feels new. Aug 11, 2017 Full Review Simon Foster Screen-Space Leite's direction is artful and insightful, her dialogue sparse and real; her debut feature signifies she is a talent to watch.
