Audience Member In opening of Black Cat Run, 4 vicious criminal, including Peter Greene (Clean Shaven), Russell Means (The Last of the Mohicans), Kevin J. O'Connor (Deep Rising), and Michael Ralph make a daring, bloody escape from police. After that, the story focuses on young gas attendant Patrick Muldoon (Starship Troopers) who dreams of saving up enough money, grabbing his beautiful girlfriend, soap star Amelia Heinle, and hitting the road and going to college, much against Heinle's sheriff father, Rex Linn (Rush Hour) and deputy Jake Busey (Starship Troopers). A public argument leads to the arrival of the criminals, their kidnapping of Heinle, murdering of Linn, and framing of Muldoon, who goes in pursuit of the criminals while the entire state police are tracking him down, namely Busey's character. Lots of surprisingly violent deaths ensue (effects courtesy of the illustrious KNB Effects group) in this surprisingly good made for cable TV movie. Sure, the cast screams of popular character actors and B-movie greats who all put in very exceptional performances (despite it having that corny 90's flare to it at times), however, the biggest talent behind it lies within the direction from then-unknown D.J. Caruso (The Salton Sea, Taking Lives, Disturbia) and writing from none other than Frank Darabont (A Nightmare on Elm Street 3, The Blob remake, The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Mist; some of which he ALSO directed). All of these people come together to deliver a somewhat fun and entertaining good ole action flick that manages to more than just get the job done. Good film and a real surprise as I thought it was going to be a bust. They are just too "real" I mean they could actually happen, and it just creeps me out. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
