Audience Member The funniest Michael Caine mystery/thriller ever, LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Poor Movie. Michael caine said making this movie was one of the worst experiences of his life. Now it's become one of mine. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Michael Caine returns as Harry Palmer almost 30 years after he last played the role. This, and one last Palmer film, were shot back to back for television, and as a result, they seem a little on the cheap side. They are well shot for 90s TV, but the quality isn't going to be anywhere near that of the original three films. It can be okay to watch, but it is rather forgettable in the long run...and Caine was too old for the part at this point. Might be worth checking out if you really like the Palmer character, but it feels pretty weak. There are moments that feel a bit too goofy, and others that just don't work. The action is rather lame too...but again, take it all with a grain of salt...it did it's best for a made for TV sequel. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member what a strange movie....sort of a cross between james bond and a brit carry-on film....lots of one liners.....interesting russian scenery....makes little sense...great climax shoot-out.....strange but fun Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review bill t I wish there was just one Harry Palmer movie, as all of them seemed to go downhill after "The Ipcress File". In "Bullet To Beijing", Michael Caine returns to the character after, what, 15 years? and looks terribly scruffy (really, what's the deal on that haircut?) and looks to be acting for the paycheque (this IS 1980's Michael Caine after all). The story is not THAT bad, granted. There's lots of spying, double crossing and a bit of 80's eurotrash going on. Fun if you're not expecting too much, but difficult to watch on the Harry Palmer series of films. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member The spy story is fine, but the acting is terrible throughout, including Michael Caine who looks unconvincing as the hero charged with saving the day. It's supposed to be a third sequel but doesn't really do justice to the Harry Palmer saga, and it uses a cheap looking grade of film. The best sequence comes mid-way through after they get thrown off the train and need to find a way back on - maybe a homage to Silver Streak.
