Eddie Murphy stars in this holiday comedy adventure about a man on a mission to win his neighborhood's annual Christmas home decoration contest. After Chris (Eddie Murphy) inadvertently makes a deal with a mischievous elf named Pepper (Jillian Bell) to better his chances of winning, she casts a magic spell that brings the 12 Days of Christmas to life, and wreaks havoc on the whole town. At the risk of ruining the holidays for his family, Chris, his wife Carol (Tracee Ellis Ross), and their three children must race against the clock to break Pepper's spell, battle deviously magical characters, and save Christmas for everyone.

The best scenes have nothing to do with Christmas, such as Chris and Carol expressing their love and support for each other, and the children telling their father that he’s parenting for himself not them.

Candy Cane Lane feels like a film ripped straight out of the late 90s and early 2000s. I should know, because that’s when I was a kid and watched this exact type of bad live-action comedy on repeat and instantly forgot them until my next viewing.

If Murphy is in a film the chances are real good it's a Christmas turkey. Not even stuffing and gravy would make this bird taste good though.

Candy cane lane is a alright nonsense comedy movie but most of the time it doesn’t make sense at all like when the evil cow woman just appeared and like just in general it a lot doesn’t make sense, the characters are actually good and funny but I think the whole turning the characters into little toys isn’t any thing new but it’s a mostly okay Christmas film but I don’t think it’s that bad.
