Audience Member Terrible movie. How anyone with a decent job, driving a piece of shit car, can not pay his mortgage on a crappy little house is where the movie starts to loose me.. how this has a 100% fresh rating is beyond bizarre. Avoid this movie. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Held my interest, but ultimately unsatisfying. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member A sensible and homegrown drama-comedy about Frank who has a girlfriend. But, his girlfriend has another boyfriend. Frank knows the guy, and it's only a matter of time until it all comes to a head. In the meanwhile, Frank undergoes a nerve-wracking transformation from his job at the winery, his deceased mother's home, and an Australian roommate who all teach him the secrets to life. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Between a 6/10 and 7/10, voiceover and other techniques continually break the fourth wall, while other stylistic flourishes create an almost whimsical aesthetic. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member this movie was horrible and the main actor in it was unbearable and desperate in his attempt to seem humorous, though failing miserably. there is absolutely zero chemistry between any of the characters and the acting is really poor. there's a lot of "that would never happen in real life" situations making it an even more obnoxious film to watch. just don't waste your time, I only got through it because I was incredibly stoned. Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com Cement Suitcase has just about everything you could want from an indie comedy. Rated: 3.0/4.0 Sep 5, 2020 Full Review Frank Ochieng Popoptiq Suitcase has an off-kilter winning spirit that soars above its quirky pathos. Infectiously witty, irreverent and bouncy, Castaneda's nifty narrative takes a charming approach to spotlight one young man's dalliances in wine and life lessons decline. Rated: 3/4 Mar 1, 2019 Full Review Aaron Peterson The Hollywood Outsider A fun and clever film with heart and a winning performance from its lead. Cement Suitcase is easily worthy of a taste. Rated: 6/10 Oct 12, 2018 Full Review Prairie Miller Critical Women A bittersweet when not refreshingly ballsy comedy that isn't especially about cement or suitcases, the film seems inevitably yet another spotlight on the economic plight of youth today. A smartly scripted concoction of sobering and weirdly kooky charm. Jun 14, 2014 Full Review Tony Macklin tonymacklin.net Cement Suitcase is an indie with flair and heart. Rated: 3.0/5 May 3, 2014 Full Review Kenneth R. Morefield Christianity Today The nicest thing about Cement Suitcase is that it allows Franklin some measure of self-knowledge and agency in choosing how to be influenced Rated: 3/5 Apr 17, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews
