Cold Copy is a character-driven thriller that tackles one of the most pertinent issues of our day: our enslavement to narrative. It follows journalism student Mia Scott as she tries to win over the ruthless and influential Diane Heger -- tiger of an interviewer and host of The Night Report -- to get a segment aired on the show. But Diane's influence and Mia's thirst for success are a terrible cocktail, and under Diane's eye, Mia soon feels compelled to play fast and loose with the truth, twisting the tragic story of her innocent subject, cocky teen Igor Nowak to make it pop. The film is a dance between two women, one who has constructed the perfect mask of cold, calculated success, and one who believes the only way to succeed is to mimic it. Ultimately, it explores the irreparable damage done by our growing desire to 'construct' ourselves and the world around us, a world where narrative now supersedes truth. Read More Read Less

Dwight Brown DwightBrownInk.com No one to like. Little reason to watch. Rated: 2/4 Jun 29, 2023 Full Review Lex Briscuso TheWrap “Cold Copy” is a tense journalism drama that ultimately can’t be saved by a group of strong leads who are running lengths with the material they’ve been given. Jun 27, 2023 Full Review Caryn James Hollywood Reporter Ultimately, the film is less about the ostensible themes of journalism and truth that it starts with than an erratic drama about two out-of-control compromised people, anomalies who deserve each other. Jun 21, 2023 Full Review Joe Friar Fort Worth Report Tracee Ellis Ross can’t save the journalism thriller that suggests no news is good news. An implausible drama filled with good actors playing one-dimensional characters. Ross seems to be having fun, unfortunately, the audience, is not. Rated: 2/4 Feb 9, 2024 Full Review Peter Gray The AU Review Whatever blemishes Cold Copy adheres to along the way, none are macular enough to cloud the film’s obvious entertainment value. Rated: 3/5 Feb 9, 2024 Full Review Monica Encarnacion Common Sense Media This is an entertaining drama/thriller, if not without its flaws. Feb 6, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Nick Didn’t keep my attention. Wouldn’t watch again Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/24 Full Review Audience Member It wasn’t the best movie I ever saw. It did keep me watching, which is saying a lot. Most of the stuff that’s come out the past few years is just unwatchable. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/06/24 Full Review Nancy C I guess I must be one of the minority. I loved the movie. Kept my attention. I wanted more. Thanks, Nancy Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/05/24 Full Review Ann E Hard to stick with a movie when you could not care less about any of the characters. Horrible life lessons with predictable and uninteresting consequences. Was glad when it was over Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/02/24 Full Review Jerod S Ross performs the role as power drunk reporter to a tee. But the rest of the cast is dull (tired looking, even). Predictable ending with her understudy doing her in. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/25/24 Full Review Andrei D Kind of goes nowhere Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/13/24 Full Review Read all reviews
