Critics Consensus

If Decision to Leave isn't quite on the same level as Park Chan-wook's masterpieces, this romantic thriller is still a remarkable achievement by any other metric.

Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/09/22 Full Review Len great acting with a compelling story that keeps you interested and focused to the story. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/09/22 Full Review PayneReviews After being put on a murder case a detectives life becomes entangled with the live of his suspect resulting in disastrous consequences.Complete with gorgeous cinematography and excellent sound design I was truly immersed in the story. I loved the chemistry between Hae-Joon and Seo-rae they click as soon as they get on screen together. Had a similar feeling to Memories of Murder at first but quickly transcended and became its own thing. The murder is expertly crafted keeping the audience on their feet with Hae-Joon as he untangles one lead after another. Throughout the film they use this technique of having Hae-Joon show up in the scene when he's supposed to be watching it as a way to show him piecing things together and it's an extremely interesting way to show his thought process. The ending is brutal but effective, one of those endings I'm going to be thinking about for months to come. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/07/22 Full Review Read all reviews
