Lillard - an actor best-known for his role in "The Descendants" - uses the locations well enough, but the result is still a standard coming-of-age picture. Go to Full Review

it's pretty clear that Fat Kid Rules The World really does rule...and so does Matthew Lillard. Go to Full Review

Tthough Fat Kid Rules the World is thankfully never as hyperbolized as it's title and certainly has its faults, it wears its heart on its sleeve and with excellent performances from up and comers O'Leary and Wysocki. Go to Full Review

The scenario sounds cliched, but it's brought to life by authentic characters, solid laughs, and surprisingly honest emotions. Go to Full Review

06/22/2019 I found ‘Fat Kid Rules the World' to be endearing and entertaining until it smashed into a dead ending that left me very disappointed. See more 01/31/2017 Okay, so that acting isn't great, in fact it isn't even good, but this movie has the feel of SLC punk all the way through. It is a good story and fun to watch, and at the end of the day that's all that matters. See more 01/30/2016 I just kept wanting for him to stop eating. See more 08/06/2015 Matthew Lillard's film succeeds far better than I had anticipated. Much of this film's success is rooted in the performances of Jacob Wysocki, Matt O'Leary and Billy Campbell. In some ways if seems like the movie should be predictable, but it constantly seems to surprise. Wysocki is particularly impressive. How a 30-something man can getaway with playing a teenager is amazing. He does. As does Matt O'Leary -- they both seem and appear to be children on the verge of adulthood. See more 07/05/2015 pretty good movie about friendship and all that coming of age stuff See more paul s 01/06/2015 This was pretty good. I have to give indie movies credit where it is due. This had a reasonably good story and I enjoyed how it progressed. I really liked the personal growth of the main character. A couple reviewers mentioned that they were put off by the ending, but I thought their objection to it was overblown. The ending was not a monumental let down, even though I think it could have been wrapped up a little bit better. Nonetheless, this wound up being worth my time. I don't quite think I'd watch it again, but I can still tell people that I find it worth watching once. So enjoy. See more Read all reviews
