See more 01/19/2011 ★★★ (out of four) Nice, atmospheric vehicle for Barbra Stanwyck. I always like how she played women with a past, often times a little bit naughty. She was a great mix of tough and vulnerable. This film showed both those sides. Stanwyck plays Janet Healy, a woman who has recently been released from prison. Her child had been taken away from her and she is the widow of a bank robber. While being treated at a hospital young Dr. Kildare (Joel McCrea) falls for her. Stanwyck and McCrea have some real chemistry. The film is moody and fun, though nothing overly special. I still liked it.
