Corrine H An incredibly stupid movie. If I had paid for it in a movie, I would have asked for my money back. The jugs were nice. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/06/23 Full Review Hugo S A backwoods community worships a pit in the forest. Sacrifices take place in this cult to safeguard its divine protection. A pregnant girl is doomed to be the next sacrifice and soon the movie becomes a cult escape flick. "Jug Face" does not deliver a convincing gothic heroine nor does it succeed in exploring the belief system shared by this community. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review omg p There is a community of cultists living in the woods worshiping the mud pit. It is disturbing, twisted and intense and also ridiculous, but it works mainly because of surprisingly good acting. Altough this movie is low budget, camera and sound was good. If you don't mind slow burn horror movies I recommend. It's like Lovecraft meets The Wicker Men meets 40k's chaos. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Jug Face, while oddly named and equipped with an even stranger plot offers a fresh take on the folk film genre by allowing the audience to see inner conflicts of an isolated, backwoods community. This movie kept me hooked with plot twists that I never would have expected it to, making it one of the best indie horror films I've seen yet. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member You've got to be kidding me. A hole in the ground? How much was the budget, the price of the shovel? It shows. A benign mess. Marsha McCreadie RogerEbert.com "Jug Face" is not uniformly polished, yet it's a breakthrough, not so much for gore, or terror, but because the director can truly do tension, maybe a harder trick to pull off. Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 13, 2013 Full Review Farran Smith Nehme New York Post This morbid, cruel movie seems leached of all things that might inadvertently give viewers pleasure. Rated: 1.5/4 Aug 9, 2013 Full Review Nicolas Rapold New York Times Some low-budget manifestations of the supernatural jazz up the frights now and again, but as the novelty of worshiping a hole in the ground fades, the film paints itself into a corner. Rated: 2.5/5 Aug 8, 2013 Full Review Nicholas Bell IONCINEMA.com Jug Face is a weird little film certainly worth a look, and its writer/director is certainly a talent to keep track of. Aug 22, 2019 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews Has a chilling atmosphere. Rated: C Feb 4, 2016 Full Review Scott Weinberg TheHorrorShow A bizarre but consistently creepy tale of bad religion, bad spirits, and very bad behavior. Aug 24, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews
