      Bill A Doesn't translate all that well from the novel. It reduces what is a coming of age story, to a silly, dull, Hollywood romance. Arnaz and Norris give strong performances within the limitations of the script, but Hollywood misses miserably on the essential point of the novel. The film might be a good place to start, but the novel must be read to truly appreciate the richness of the story. A five star book, reduced to a two and a half star movie.
