It's a week before Christmas and Mrs. Claus (Angela Lansbury) is feeling unappreciated when Santa Claus (Charles Durning) refuses to look over her new route for distributing presents. She goes for a test drive on the sleigh, but lands in New York City due to horrid weather, injuring her reindeer. While she is incognito as "Mrs. North," she befriends neighborhood inhabitants and helps them resolve some of their own issues, which run the gamut from worker abuse to unrequited love.

Mike J Angela Lansbury elevates Mrs. Santa Claus from being merely a good holiday family film to the level of being a very good one. While not a true holiday classic, it is more entertaining than a lot of other good holiday films that appear on television around Christmas time, due in large part to Lansbury and a strong cast of accomplished actors such as Charles Durning and Terrence Mann. There are musical numbers scattered throughout, and while not particularly memorable, they are just right in context of the film and are mostly enjoyable. I've seen it twice now, and it has become a holiday staple for me. If anyone other than Lansbury had played the lead I'm pretty sure this would be just an okay film. As it is, it is worth seeking out if you appreciate solid family entertainment or if you are a fan of Lansbury. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/26/22 Full Review Audience Member I am obsessed with this movie! It is the perfect Christmas movie for a musical lover. Angela Lansbury is a dream. The songs are catchy and the story is just beautiful! A must-see for all the musical lovers out there. :) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Mrs. Claus takes the reindeers for a stroll and finds herself in turn of the 20th century New York helping some kids working like slaves in a factory. An awkward musical full of Christmas spirit clichés, but the casting of Lansbury as Mrs. Santa Claus is spoty on. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Great film, loved it! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member a proper classic christmas musical, i could watch it in the summer just to cheer me up, yes it can be predictable, but the songs are very catchy and make me want to dance Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member I Like Angela Lansbury, It's Hard For Me To Find Something I Dislike Her In, But This Made For TV Musical Is Taking The Biscuit. If It Wasn't For Angela Lansbury The Movie Wouldn't Have Been Viewable. A Hard Watch For Older People, But I Can See Elements Of Why A Kid Could Enjoy It. The Film Features The Annoying Catchy Songs Of Which You Would Find In One Of Disney's Animated Musical Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
