Scott Tobias The Dissolve As raw exploitation, Nurse 3D [...] over-promises and under-delivers, which might have been inevitable with a title like that. Rated: 2.0/5 Feb 14, 2014 Full Review Chuck Wilson Village Voice If the onscreen serial killer isn't having fun, how can we? Feb 10, 2014 Full Review Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter Director Doug Aarniokoski and co-screenwriter David Loughery fail to infuse the overly familiar elements with the necessary dark humor. Feb 7, 2014 Full Review Trace Thurman Horror Queers Podcast Boasting a truly flabbergasting performance from Paz de la Huerta, Nurse 3D is the definition of modern camp. It's not "good," but it's oh so good. Rated: 4/5 Jul 12, 2022 Full Review Joe Lipsett Horror Queers Podcast This glorious campy mess features an iconic lead performance by Paz de la Huerta (though not always her voice!). When the focus is on Abby, it's a wild delight. When the focus shifts to Danni, however, Nurse 3D loses its way. Rated: 3/5 Jul 7, 2022 Full Review Frank Ochieng SF Crowsnest Clearly, the recommended prescription for the delusional Nurse 3-D is a deviant hard pill to swallow and that is not necessarily a bad thing neither. Eric M Who was responsible for making this trash movie and what's up with Paz' face, it changes in every picture. Just think twice before you go to the emergency room, or trust anyone in the healthcare industry because I believe that is the target audience of this filmascara. These big shot Hollywood actors come down from their ivory towers every so often to lecture the public on morality, yet 90 percent of the films produced by Hollywood are subversive garbage, this being one of them. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/10/24 Full Review Audience Member The health care profession has made over 30 years more deaths according to the FBI including creating serial killers Paz de La Huerta, Katrina Bowden, Niecey Nash, Kathleen Turner, and Corbin Bleu of 'High School Musical' fame star in a bloody erotic slasher Abby Russell is the main antagonist being a certified nurse at All Saints Hospital in NYC, she just happens to be very psychotic and takes pleasure in murdering unfaithful men and getting her rocks off from it Danni is the newest recruit among many nurses who dress a bit more sensually than usual Steve is her boyfriend who's also an EMT but they both have commitment issues and Danni's mom and stepdad are having marital difficulties The problems start when Danni and Abby start forming a friendship that sinks into unhealthy obsession Now Abby will stop at nothing to have her all to herself even killing everyone around Danni The movie is made for the 3D format which is funny cause certain moments try to take advantage of the gimmick It also doesn't shy away from its excessive gore and sex It's also one hell of a flabbergasting performance from Huerta abusing her healing skills for grisly kills True her delivery sounds deadpan due to bad dubbing but she displays the right amount of allure and menace simultaneously Sadly Bowden isn't as interesting a character and it lends itself too familiar like any other lifetime thrillers at times That can bog down some of the trashy fun but there's plenty of blood splatter to balance things out particularly near the ending It goes bat-s*#& insane at that point There's a lot to swallow that's for sure Plus this is a bit of a throwback to giallo style horror with the heightened colors and an erotic vibe Has a potential to be great but falls short Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/02/23 Full Review Curtis C Laughably bad acting, photography, and editing. This movie even makes viewing the nude female form boring. The nurse, unhappy with being a female, tries to compensate for being the weaker sex by killing off men she entices to have $ex with her. In a rebuke of biology, she offers the men a '2nd chance' but only after the normal overpowering male mating drive has kicked in and blocked all conscience thought. If you turn off the volume and fast forward though the non-nude scenes you might find a 2 star worth. Do not waste 85 minutes of your life that you will waste by watching this 'dead on arrival' and not get back. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Possibly the worst film I have ever seen. I admit to not watching the very end. I couldn't bear it. I am a woman who loves the glamorous kitsch pinup girl look, I love slasher films and I am medical professional. Not only does this film manage to insult the entire medical field, it also manages not to be in anyway funny whilst doing so! I mean, there's a nurse criticising a paramedic for not being "smart enough to be a doctor" she's a nurse; clearly isn't a doctor herself….. but he should be because he's a man? I get it there's a world where men are either doctors or paramedics and women are nurses, if they're attractive. Not exactly elevated horror. But it's also not funny, not scary and the acting is paralysingly bad. I can't figure out what's going on with the leading lady. What drug makes a person act like that? How in the world did Paz de la Huerta get a leading role as some slasher cartoon femme fatale? They really couldn't find somebody better, like, less stoned for that role?! I'm honestly sad to see Kathleen Turner appearing in the film. She has always been an amazing actress, what was she doing in this trash flick? Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review River W I hate the way the main character speaks. I love the idea of some nurse murdering cheating men, but COME ON speak NORMALLY. I had to mute it and watch with closed captions. This is really weird...it doesn't event try to be ahorror movie after the opening scene. This is basically soft core porn- IN 3D. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/04/22 Full Review Audience Member C'mon! This is a great, trashy, thriller! It's a masterpiece of camp, telegraphed immediately by Paz de la Huerta doing this hilariously stock super breathy voice which is supposed to be super-sexy but instead is super hilarious. The plot is a typical thriller thing, a homicidal maniac story, arranged by a script-o-matic process but it comes out more like a comic version of one of these, in a hospital where the nurses wear mini skirt uniforms and wedge heels. There's some actual comic relief played by Niecy Nash (she is a high point in the series "Getting On," also playing a nurse). Suggested drinking game for a watch party: drink every time de la Heurta takes off her clothes. In one scene she strips to torture a victim with a grinder. Really. It culminates in a laugh-out-loud killing spree and a little twist that one has to assume was a set up to a sequel. Fun! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews
