The real culprit is producer Paul Maslansky, the creator of the Academy films, clearly a man who can never be stopped, not even by a SWAT team of movie critics with blood in their eyes. Go to Full Review

One of the series’ worst characters is Carl Proctor -- the filmmakers somehow thought it was a good idea to increase his role with each passing picture, so this one goes all-out with his imbecilic antics. Go to Full Review

Erik B Jul 28 Isn't this more or less a carbon-copy of the last installment? The boat scenes scream "yes". See more Stephen C @bob25009 May 30 Second-best in the franchise in just 1 hour and 29 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!! See more John D Mar 29 The best of the entire franchise. See more r96 s Mar 26 'Police Academy 5: Assignment Miami Beach' is much like its predecessor - uninspiring. Again, like in 'Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol', it does conclude with a visual that's worthy of watching (even if it falls flat otherwise). In fairness, this fifth entry does feel a bit different in terms of the plot; which I can respect, although it is still underwhelming stuff. Steve Guttenberg's absence doesn't help, I don't think he would've improved this one but his presence amongst his regular co-stars is missed. The new cast members are not good, but at this point if you aren't a hallmark of this franchise then you probably aren't going to leave a lasting impression - unless the filmmakers improve upon their work, of course. I did, though, like the change of location on paper, but in reality it doesn't do much. Just two more to go... See more Jeff R 10/05/2024 Terrible movie, but for some reason I was entertained by it as a child. I do still think it was funny when Harris had an insult written on him in sunscreen. The use of Ride of the Valkyries was a nice touch too. Other than that, the movie is awful. See more Read all reviews
