Popular actress Megan Valentine (Jessica Simpson) is down on her luck: Her scheming accountant made off with her fortune, and her latest film flopped. She hopes to sign onto a major military-theme production but, first, must change her ditzy image to impress the studio making the movie. In order to prove herself, Megan enters the Marines and is sent to boot camp, where she butts heads with gruff Sgt. Louisa Morely (Vivica A. Fox) and struggles to adapt to life without luxury.

Valentine (aka Major Movie Star) is a graceless, flavorless farce built around the idea that Simpson's dimwit routine still holds appeal and the hope that the target demo has never heard of Goldie Hawn.

This movie was too ambitious. It should have been a TV movie to begin with. This is as bad as they say but better than some Lifetime/Hallmark movies I have watched on a rainy Saturday afternoon.

Why would I even watch this? Just look at the cover and you'll find an answer. Yes I think Jessica Simpson is hot but this movie wasn't. Hey Jessica, you know your movie is going straight to video when you have Steve Guttenburg in it. This sucks and pretty much ruined Simpson's acting career. About the coolest and best part is when they were eating the candy bars. I almost made it all the way through too.
