Critics Consensus

Rememory has some intriguing themes and a compelling cast to work with, but they're lost in the fog of a forgettable melodrama.

Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times Despite a soulful turn by Dinklage and some thoughtful themes and emotions, the film, capped by an anti-climactic ending, never coheres into the gripping, mind-bending package that was clearly intended. Jul 18, 2018 Full Review Simon Abrams RogerEbert.com A maddening experience, watching a film with a great kernel of an idea fail to grow into something equally impressive. Rated: 2/4 Sep 8, 2017 Full Review Sara Stewart New York Post You may find this one purged from your own memory banks shortly after watching. Rated: 2/4 Sep 7, 2017 Full Review Abbie Bernstein Assignment X Rememory is worth seeing for Dinklage's work, and it has some promising notions, but the whole winds up being less than the sum of its parts. Rated: B- Aug 28, 2018 Full Review Craig D. Lindsey L.A. Weekly Rememory proves that Peter Dinklage is ready for his close-up. When is Hollywood gonna be ready? Oct 3, 2017 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue The stylish touches are undermined by the contrivances, which bury the gimmicky sci-fi elements in favor of manipulative melodrama about the value of preserving memories. alan g Thank G-d the Dumbkelage era is over. Who thought he could act on the big screen. His talents did not not transfer well. Unfortunately, the malignant dwarf gets his crown back. Why does hokeywood think these two can act? I was completely blindsided by the twist ending...although it didn't make much sense. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/21/24 Full Review Audience Member It was okay. Seems like a cheap film. I kinda figured out what happened before it was revealed. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Good idea, bad execution. Absolutely melodramatic, dreary and boring. Most importantly boring. No good Performance by Peter Dinklage can save this one. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Rememory has an intriguing premise with a good cast and a decent musical score. It’s unfortunate though that the movie is bogged down with mellow drama, a very slow pace and questionable pacing. A better Director and screen play would have elevated this material and do something really special even with The surprise but predictable twist ending.
