Ex-villain Gal Dove (Ray Winstone) has served his time behind bars and is blissfully retired to a Spanish villa paradise with a wife he adores. The idyll is shattered by the arrival of his nemesis Don Logan (Ben Kingsley), intent on persuading Gal to return to London for one last big job. Remember the Gandhi of Ben Kingsley? Wait until you seem him here as Don Logan, a psychotic gangster, the British equivalent of Pesci in GoodFellas. Kingsley's work is more bizarrely eccentric. And more accomplished.

A well received movie when it came out- watching in 2025= still great. I strongly suggest you subtitle it or you'll miss most of the dialogue EVEN if you're British. They don't annunciate very well and deliver the lines with a spitfire rapidity. Great acting, great story, an must addition to your library.

You may be out of the game, but that doesn't mean that it's through with you! Gal Dove enjoys his retirement along with his friends at his relaxing villa, only for the unstable Don Logan to arrive on his doorstep asking to pull off one last job and won't take no for an answer. Funny, yet brutally intense at the same time, this crime thriller manages to stick with you after it's done!
