I’ve rarely seen a movie where every time a character shows up, you have absolutely no clue what will happen—you just have this constant feeling that he could explode at any given moment. Don Logan’s introduction is, quite frankly, one of the best character introductions I’ve ever seen. When he’s walking through the airport, that deeply serious, disgusted, intense and incredibly focused look tells you everything you need to know about him without saying or explaining anything. From the moment he appears, he feels like a ticking time bomb. This is a blueprint for how a dangerous character should be introduced. You don’t need exposition telling us how crazy or terrifying he is—you can see it in the way he walks, looks at people and carries himself. Kingsley makes every scene unpredictable because you never know what tiny thing is going to set Don off. All the performances are good but it didn’t quite seem believable. Still a good watch. And its nice to see Ray Winstone without his top on.
