Dapper Koala Buster Moon presides over a once-grand theater that has fallen on hard times. An eternal optimist, and a bit of a scoundrel, he loves his theater above all and will do anything to preserve it. Facing the crumbling of his life's ambition, he takes one final chance to restore his fading jewel to its former glory by producing the world's greatest singing competition. Five contestants emerge: a mouse, a timid elephant, a pig, a gorilla and a punk-rock porcupine.

Sing is an entertaining, feel-good animated film with strong music and broad appeal, but its message is simpler than it probably intends to be. At its core, the movie repeatedly lands on one clear idea: never give up. For kids, that message comes through loud and clear. Where Sing stumbles slightly is in how it frames perseverance. The film often rewards reckless optimism and glosses over consequences, especially through Buster Moon, whose poor decisions are treated as charming rather than irresponsible. That weakens what could have been a more thoughtful lesson about balancing dreams with accountability. Still, the characters are likable, the performances are solid, and the soundtrack carries a lot of emotional weight. Sing works best as light family entertainment rather than a meaningful ideological statement. It’s enjoyable, heartfelt, and fun—but thematically shallow.
