First half feels like this was made for the Tik Tok Generation and you just need constant stimulation and things going on to keep their interest. It also feels like it was made by Corporate Suits who are completely out of touch and trying to copy from better material that we've seen done before multiple times. On top of that the characters are very stock, some miscast (Common as the Yoda of the village effectively), and others who are just the archetype main character or support we've seen from everything from Emojii Movie, Bee Movie, How To Train Your Dragon, Antz, and everything in between. The music is just a hodgepoge of Hip Hop, Queen, Original generic music numbers, and some I swear there is a sound mixing issue where I can barely hear the lyrics. I've never encountered that before. There well sung withc grat vocals but there just not catchy or memorable visually either. Way too many jokes also. This goes faster than Airplane! in terms of the rapid fire jokes and misses 95% of the time and it becomes very annoying. However everything else is half decent and that's because of the second half where it stops the nonsense and actually tries being original, serious, and a degree of sinceity kicks in. The visuals get stronger like in the city, the character arc of Gordon ironically enough really is interesting, and it ironically stops with the rapid fire jokes and starts hitting half the time. It still isn't anything you haven't seen before though. And I question if it's worth sitting through the first for a second half that is good but nothing you haven't seen before. Maybe if your a hardcore fan of any voice actors here or the directors that sure. But otherwise most could skip this. Not as bad as I thought it would be.
