Rosana B Um ótimo filme de suspense psicológico, adoro esses mistérios que vão aos poucos desenvolvidos, com pouca ou nenhuma pista, violência, alienação parental, psicopatia, varias vertentes para análise e estudo, ou apenas curtir o último dia do ano despreocupadamente assistindo um filme inteligente, meticuloso e intrigante… O trio de protagonistas/antagonistas estão maravilhosamente perfeitos, no cinismo, frieza e sutileza de ações e em suas caras e bocas… Lentidão, sangue e fotografia fria... Rated 4/5 Stars •  Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/16/25 Full Review Laura W A masterful exploration of the paradoxes that can manifest when a truly creative auteur fully employs all sensory dimensions a film can encompass, making use of sumptuous and stylish visual aesthetics - creating a world halfway between realism and a Tim Burton film - and an incredible sound design which explores the hypersensitive hearing of Mia Wasikowska’s grieving heroine as she tries to understand her changing world in the aftermath of her father’s death. Through this hyper-sensory approach we are immersed in a world that turns between the mysterious and otherworldly, to the familiar and uncanny, from innocence to primal desires, from the simple and subtle to the complex, disturbing, and deeply macabre. A veritable feast of a film whose delectable atmosphere lingers on long after the credits have rolled. Rated 2/5 Stars •  Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/10/24 Full Review Lúcio Leonardo P I thought the story was one, but it was completely different since the trailer makes you believe that the plot will go down a path that doesn't exist, so I think this film talks about people's psyches, about the awakening of the dark side of each one, which could make a beautiful story, but here, we have something a bit still, a bit strange, a bit confusing until its ending. It can please or irritate depending on your mood. Director Park Chan-wook tries to maintain a suspenseful atmosphere but doesn't develop it very well. Actress Mia Wasikowska's performance is perfect, as she plays India Stoker, an isolated teenager, few friends, with the "dark side of the force" awakening. And the setting to develop the story was very well chosen. I also thought the choice of the title in Portuguese was good. And what a beautiful "lost" teenager... As there didn't turn out to be a supernatural element to things the dad's fears and bond with her uncle seemed remarkably convenient. It felt like the initial hints of a connection to the (almost) eponymous Bram were all that were holding a lot of it together. A shame.
