Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Mahlon M You have to hunt to find this gem (literally, check R/T, not lised on IMDb), which tries, and mostly succeeds, to be an honest but unifying force. Giancarlo Esposito's superb portrayal of a subway bum is the exact opposite of the simmering, fastidious heavy in the long running Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul series. Half the music is excellent, especially Giancarlo singing "Crazy" (not Patsy Cline's). But the other half is Broadway sing-song boiler plate, which is why I made it a 95 instead of a 10. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/23/20 Full Review Audience Member Exploring the personality of each character, its history, that everyone shines in their performance and singing, Stuck will address a story of joys, sorrows, anger, memories and of course, THE MUSIC !!!, is wonderful and spectacular. A movie to enjoy very much in family. The most beautiful I've seen Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member I liked it. The cast is good, and they make all feel their pain/predicament. The ending was very insightful and uplifting. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member A surprise hit in our book! We love musicals in general. This film has a strong moral lesson without being preachy. We really felt it conveyed multiple sides of societal issues in a positive way. Giancarlo Esposito was amazing as always. He shines bright among the cast but is complemented by a strong cast. Almost the entire movie is set in a set (a la 12 Angry Men) in a subway car. They did a great job pulling you into the story so this was almost forgotten. I recommend seeing it and hope it will come to Netflix soon. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a must see - very inspiring! Great message! Great musical! Matt Fagerholm RogerEbert.com It's not a film so much as a lecture punctuated by a patronizing moral, and more importantly, it's not much fun. Rated: 1.5/4 Apr 19, 2019 Full Review Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times "Stuck," the film adaptation of Riley Thomas' 2012 off-Broadway musical, is a slight and facile piece that feels egregiously past its sell-by date. Apr 19, 2019 Full Review Eddie Cockrell Variety A modest achievement that benefits from a lot of heart and not being like anything else out there. Apr 18, 2019 Full Review M.V. Moorhead Phoenix Magazine The performers attack the tunes with vigor and bounce off of each other agreeably. Jan 7, 2020 Full Review Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat Spirituality & Practice A parabolic musical about what needs to happen to achieve the ancient dream of unity and respect for all people. Rated: 4/5 Sep 24, 2019 Full Review Mark Goodyear Battle Royale With Cheese Stuck is an admirable attempt to shine new light on 'don't judge a book by its cover' but it misses the mark.
