Georgan G Read the book when it came out and have seen this made-for-TV a couple of times. The abused child managed to save herself via extra personalities. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/27/24 Full Review Paul M I think this is probably the best movie I've seen sally field in. True story Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Even a bit scary. Wonderful expression of multiple personality disorder (and perhaps invented, it's not sure if this is based on a real story (since the real story isn't sure if it is real)). Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Kevin L Joanne Woodward had been a brilliant actress for decades, and she's great in Sybil. But this is Sally Field's movie, and it was her first real standout performance that showed us the potential for the stunning, remarkable work she would show in so many adult roles in her long, impressive career. Yes, it's a long film, but to cover someone with that many personalities and that godawful of an upbringing to cause a child and an adolescent to have to split into so many different people to maintain existence, it takes three or more hours to do it proper justice. That old hag who she thought of as her mother was either mentally ill herself, or just a sociopath. And her dimwitted father who had religion too far up his backside to see reality was little if any real help aside from his money. Horrific stuff, but a well made movie. 4 stars Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/13/22 Full Review robert p I hated Sally Field as the Flying Nun, I thought that TV series stank, but I have to admit that Sally Field is an excellent actress who stops at nothing to get it done!!!! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is sad, suspenseful, and really gives insight on the world of schizophrenia. Definitely kept my interest despite being a 3 hour long movie. Just wish I could find somewhere to stream it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
