Hapless dynamo Old Bill (Syd Chaplin) is a sergeant in the British army during World War I, under the command of Major Gaspard (Theodore Lorch). Old Bill becomes suspicious of his commander's off-duty activities and discovers that he and a local villager (Tom Kennedy) are working together as spies for the Germans. When the double agents discover that their cover has been compromised, Old Bill attempts to prove their duplicity before they get the drop on him.
