Jesse Hassenger Decider Without more detailed characterization, the movie, frankly, resembles an odd cross between an interesting anecdote and an extended guilt trip, moreso than the tearjerker it’s aiming for. Dec 24, 2024 Full Review Daniel Hart Ready Steady Cut The Children’s Train feels like an important piece of filmmaking, highlighting a paramount moment in Italian history. And it is delivered well. Gina M I’m sure the story is good, but the voice over was absolutely horrendous, it sounded like a school play. Because of that it failed to invoke any emotional reaction in me. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/25 Full Review dave b It is a great movie. Captures so much of the postwar struggles of Italia. My huge negative is the dubbing into inglese. Netflix should have kept the original Italiano and Napoletano. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/25 Full Review Igor S This movie was so touching and beautiful. It instantly became one of my favourite movies ever. Maybe i am not able to see all it's flaws, because i found so many parallels between some of the character's stories and my own childhood(although not to the same extent), but i touched me very deeply. The only 2 complaints i have is that some of the kids acting is a bit bad at times. But i also understand, because they are kids, so that is usually what you get. Not every kid can act with the same maturity of Dakota Fannning or Freddie Highmore. The other complaint, is that it ends very abruptly, at a moment when the movie has gotten you 100% attached to it's story. Please watch this. But beware, grab your tissues first. You will need them. Unless you are cold hearted or can't leave reality and immerse yourself in the story. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/25 Full Review Sara Virginia C The movie well describes the great solidarity shared in Italy in the beginning of the Republican era, after WWII, when communism was rooting itself in cental part of the country. There are more stories: the story of a poor mother and her son, the story of the north and the south of Italy, the story of a journey, the story of a dream. Although the plot ot the narrative is complex, the film flows smoothly. It is film of great hope and it crearly shows what made it possible to Italy to become the great nation it is. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/25 Full Review sherif e It is really agreat movie..full of humanity and sensation Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/13/25 Full Review Michael C A really powerful film in the best Italian tradition of heartfelt human drama. Beautifully made, well acted, with a story that moves at a fast pace and yet is able to catch the warrmth and subtleties of each scene. Above all, it's not afraid to show human compassion together with antagonism and regret without the usual sentimentality that seems to engulf most American films that attempt to do this. Only those repelled by genuine human warmth and emotion will find this film difficult to watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/05/25 Full Review Read all reviews
