Mathieu Turi’s period horror film is a lean, mean creature feature that manages to evoke a wide range of Francophone frights, including claustrophobic suspense and dread, buckets of gore, and plenty of cosmic terrors for knowing fans of weird tales.

Do not purchase, I can only recommend a rent or waiting till it’s free on a streaming platform. The 100% from the critics is baffling. Must be some Melania level manipulation going on. The trailer looked interesting so I bought it but it was a let down. There was some promise in the premise but I’m assuming the budget was to low to bring it to fruition. The "monster" ends up just looking like a giant flimsy puppet on invisible strings in most scenes. It actually made me laugh a couple of times when it repeatedly "hugged" its victims. The story is boring, characters are forgettable and some of the plot points are poorly conceived. You want a great horror movie set in a cave watch or rewatch the Decent.

A thrilling excursion into the bowels of hell. An archeologist gets himself embedded with a group of miners in the hopes of uncovering a local legend of a god. They get more than they bargained for when they inadvertently wake the creature of lore. Mayhem and carnage ensue, to the delight of horror aficionados!

The film had a huge potential, but the story got really long and boring, with a lot of gaps in the scripit. Ended up with the gayest final I've ever seen in my life. I don't know where the 100% come from.

Absolutely a French masterpiece: A very well executed horror movie, I knew it from the beginning it's gonna be a good fucked up horror movie like any other French horror movies I have seen. For me it's a 8 out 10 🖤🖤🖤

This movie was really gripping and genuinely horrifying. My biggest complaint is that the monster should have always been partially shadowed. What you don't see is worse than what you do, and the best parts were when I was trying to figure out what it was.
