From director Paul Feig, the film plunges audiences into a twisted world where perfection is an illusion, and nothing is as it seems. Trying to escape her past, Millie (Sweeney) accepts a job as a live-in housemaid for the wealthy Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew Winchester (Brandon Sklenar). But what begins as a dream job quickly unravels into something far more dangerous -- a sexy, seductive game of secrets, scandal, and power. It goes to places that might make Hannibal Lecter blink. The darker it becomes, the more implausible it is, but it’s held together by impressive perfomances by Amanda Seyfried, Sydney Sweeney and Brandon Sklenar. Go to Full Review

It’s a goofily inspired romp through sex, violence, gaslighting, female empowerment, and bloody revenge, its core events centered around two titanically exuberant performances from stars Amanda Seyfried and Sydney Sweeney that are difficult to resist. Go to Full Review

There is nothing in the film's visual style. The camera is there because we are there. There is no real development, no visual narrative that is being built. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

This adaptation is so faithful that fans of the book will be happy, and new audiences get to experience the twists as they are. But staying safe robs the opportunity to turn The Housemaid into something more than just a thrill ride. Go to Full Review

John 5d 2 stars for Amanda, the rest of this cast and the nonsense that went with it was atrocious. It was a who's who of who can't act, being overshadowed by the one who could. See more Mateo Mar 5 Everybody was hot, plot was a bit predictable, Amanda Seyfried acted circles around everyone. Many plot holes but understandable if there’s a sequel. Would recommend to watch at home 🤝🏽 See more aimee Mar 4 The Housemaid movie 🎬 review I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked this psychological thriller. It had twists and turns, hot and steamy love scenes. It's one of those fun movies leading you with misdirection, it's like a maze.. A girl with a checkered past scores a live in position as a housemaid with a wealthy family. But soon comes to find out she's not the only one hiding something. Family consists of the wife, her daughter and her husband. When she moves in, she finds the web unraveling, and the family is not the perfect picture it's painted out to be. The husband Andrew Winchester (Brandon Sklenar) was very yummy eye candy for me personally also a good actor... of course the beautiful talented (Amanda Seyfried) plays the wife Nina Winchester and kills it. I always really liked her as an actress and she does not disappoint in this. She's arguably my favorite character in the film. Then we have the housemaid herself... (Sydney Sweeney) as Millie Calloway. I have to be honest I wasn't a fan of her acting, but she changed my mind in this role. It was fun to see her character development. Their were some silly parts that made it trashy but in a fun way.. I did not read the book. But i did enjoy the film. 4 stars See more Kendra Feb 25 sadly the book had a lot more detail but it was still great See more Yespat Feb 25 Interesting and surprising turns of events kept my attention.
