After arriving safely home from their unprecedented victory in the 74th Annual Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) discover that they must do a quick turnaround and begin a Victors Tour. As she and Peeta travel throughout the districts, Katniss senses a rebellion is stirring. This movie is an excellent sequel to the first. While the third and fourth movies leave a bad taste in the mouth, this second film create an excellent build-up to a true dystopian reality. There are moments of cheesiness or over-dramatization, but he overall acting and writing in this film is compelling and believable. The story/plot is excellent, and I was so intrigued the entire time. This is easily the best movie in the original series. President Snow is such a good bad guys, and I would say this is a must watch.

For me, this film stands among the very best in dystopian cinema. It's been a part of my life since I was younger, and the specific mood it creates still captivates me. It's absolutely one of my favorite movies, rivaled only by the other films in its trilogy.
