Emilliano Jr S It tackles serious issue in shallow depth. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/12/23 Full Review Audience Member I thought this was decent 2.8 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/20/21 Full Review Audience Member "Touched by fire" opens the door to the world of people with Mania, with all its beauty and perils. A must see, especially for people who have or care for someone with bipolar. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member This is an amazing and heart wrenching movie. It really gives and education in bipolar historically, medically, the view of family and most importantly from the view of the patient. I shoes not only the pain but the beauty of those with this diagnosis. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review nilufer e I don't quite know what was missing but I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. Partly because I dislike Katie Holmes. Could have been so much better, acting was okay but I didn't see the drama. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Having a mother who had Bipolar-1 (the type with Maniac episodes), I can honestly say this is one of the best portrayals of how serious and detrimental mental illness is, especially bipolar disorder. Even today, doctors and other people still frequently misdiagnose this disorder because of lack of experience and knowledge of people with mebtal illness (i.e. someone who's simply just moody is NOT bipolar). That being said, the movie seemed kind of boring at times, but maybe that's because seeing bipolar disorder isn't so entertaining to me. Jason Bailey Flavorwire Writer/director Dalio is the real deal - he's got a great eye and ear, and a way with visceral moments of abstract sound and imagery that place the viewer in his characters' headspace. May 3, 2016 Full Review David Ehrlich Rolling Stone Written, directed, edited, scored, and partially lived by bipolar filmmaker Paul Dalio, this intense romantic drama solely exists to prove that his so-called "disorder" isn't a dehumanizing defect. Rated: 2.5/4 Feb 25, 2016 Full Review Brad Wheeler Globe and Mail Dalio's script doesn't always flow as smoothly as the camera work, but an air of calm authenticity should leave audiences touched, in a good way. Rated: 2.5/4 Feb 19, 2016 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse A flawed but ultimately fascinating look at a delicate topic. Rated: 4/5 Feb 3, 2021 Full Review Allen Almachar The MacGuffin It's so uneven in tone and theme that any sense of 'truth' is lost. Rated: C Jul 13, 2020 Full Review Mae Abdulbaki Movies with Mae Anchored by outstanding performances by Holmes and Kirby, "Touched With Fire" is a unique love story that doesn't dismiss manic depression so much as it is used to enhance the story.
