Critics Consensus

It isn't as hard-hitting as one might expect, but Worth remains a powerfully performed and rewardingly complex dramatization of real-life events.

Colangelo's directing style is both precise and unostentatious. Here, she has given us a film which is unabashedly full of heart without ever veering on the needlessly sentimental. Go to Full Review

You won't find a larger critique of the litigious nature of American society here, nor even the full story of the fund, but no matter. What's there is gripping and thoughtful, with outstanding work by Keating, Tucci and Ryan. Go to Full Review

Watching the bureaucracy shift from a source of frustration to comfort gives the film its arresting tension. Go to Full Review

Though it’s unlikely that [Kenneth] Feinberg’s personal growth was tied so neatly to how the [9/11] dispensation actually played out, thematically this development can’t help but reflect on the current political climate. Go to Full Review

Only the acting talents of Stanley Tucci and Michael Keaton will hold your attention in this film, and it is for that reason only that the film should be sought out on Netflix this weekend. But don’t expect anything spectacular. Go to Full Review

Stephen C @bob25009 Jul 19 Success in 1 hour and 58 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated PG-13 for Thematic Elements and Some Strong Language!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See more Meredith W Apr 14 This is a gripping film because of its focus on the human stories that follow as part of the aftermath of an event as large scale as the 9-11 terrorist attack on New York’s World Trade Centre twin towers. Michael Keating and Stanley Tucci are both excellent as they essentially square off as leader of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund Keeneth Feinberg and widower community organiser Charles Wolf (Stanley Tucci), but ultimately this is a sombre rather than joyous movie. See more Wil E Mar 8 Fuuny, outrageous..a Cohen type ridiculous rendition of real life. Billy Bob always an attraction. It's so much better than what Hollywood produces now. See more Kyle M 09/28/2024 Unsung heroes with a noble mission tend to be obscured beneath the headlines, but their influences collectively build a worthwhile story. This film, with a reasonably explanatory title, adds onto the sensitively distraught narrative surrounding 9/11 with a finalizing question that pushes the thematic dedication with humane convictions empathetically written, during the financial complication as an unseen, unconsidered factor that was thrillingly treaded. At the end, it celebrates in memory after reactive, argumentative performances in concurrently compromising a line within respective objectivities, thus a positionally polished conclusion to the devastated impacts, despite the delivered pacing. (B+) See more Patrick F 05/13/2024 This is a good film. Michael Keaton, Stanley Tucci, Amy Ryan, and Tate Donovan all gave really good performances. The film shows an interesting chapter in the 9/11 story. The sometimes competing interests of protecting the economy, helping victims' families, and giving those families a voice was brought to the screen with tenderness in this film. Well acted and directed. See more Read all reviews
