Zenith is one of those movies that is full of conspiracy. the plot isn't 100% clear and some of the acting leaves something to be desired however it is a thinker movie. It allows the viewer to get lost in whatever world they feel they're in. Peter Scanavino is who I believe makes this movie as "Dumb Jack". He is believable, his look, everything about him fits the scenes even though sometimes you're confused as to where you are. I would say as far as movies go this isn't the top of my list but it is one that i say everyone should give a try at least once.

For indie films, I think one has to rate them differently and have different expectations. With Zenith, I think the film has good effort and spirit. But I think in order to get things out of the film, you have to put extra energy into paying attention. (It is reminiscent of Primer in that respect.) If you can tolerate amateur filmmaking, enjoy movies like 12 Monkeys and Trancers, and like trying to figure out hidden meanings and puzzles then perhaps you can make Zenith work for you.

Stylistically paranoid and beautifully atmospheric, Zenith is obviously influenced by other dystopian tales and has a neat take on the genre. Unfortunately, it doesn't come together in a satisfying story. It fails to deliver on its premise, never reaching the peak just adding more and more layers without resolution.
