T K Very well done series without a character I did not like! All extremely well acted with an excellent script. Remaining hopeful for a season 2 ! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/24 Full Review Iniitu M It starts with a good story especially after watching caliber actors Daniel Wu and Michelle Yeoh in it then as it progresses, the story starts to swing into chaos where puberty bad actors, overblown martial art SFX and absurd legendary fantasy storytelling were all jumbled together into this mixed cheesy and ugly bad taste movie. I moved away after eps. 2 to watching a better martial art movie-the Warrior on Max. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/16/24 Full Review Robert P Its a shame there will be not be a season 2 because the show left on a cliff hanger. I did enjoy the freshness of the Chinese Gods in California and the show had a good central character who is likeable and also very realistic teenager with a realistic family. Worth a watch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/12/24 Full Review m and k a Sucks disney cancelled the show. i'd watch many seasons of this show. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/06/24 Full Review Diane C What if Disney made a live version of boondocks? That's what they did with gene luen yang's novel Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/27/23 Full Review Bryan M Fantastic show!!!! Hope it gets a second season! Wenlei Ma News.com.au American Born Chinese is a charming and appealing series which declares that being from two different worlds is not only a hell of a lot of fun, but also special. Jun 16, 2023 Full Review Shirley Li The Atlantic Its easy confidence is strangely satisfying. Here is a series that does not care to be a tour guide, and therefore never bothers with explanations while gleefully synthesizing its classic influences and modern ideas. May 30, 2023 Full Review Robert Levin Newsday It's ideal family viewing: Thought-provoking and fun, without one element compromising the other. Rated: 3/4 May 29, 2023 Full Review Steve Murray ArtsATL The mix of high school angst and high-flying fantasy seemed like something I’ve already seen many dozen times over... Jul 14, 2023 Full Review Nguyên Lê The Playlist Disney, Yu, and company are holding a special creation in their hands, one with both an adventurous sheen and, better yet, effective affirmations. Rated: B+ Jul 3, 2023 Full Review Joe Lipsett Hazel & Katniss & Harry & Starr Podcast ABC has an all-star cast, but there's too much plot crammed into 8 episodes, which somehow also drags. The spectacular fight sequences are at odds with the emotionally grounded interpersonal story, particularly in the back half. A soft recommend. Rated: 3/5 Jun 6, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews
