"American Horror Story" was created by the co-creators of "Glee," but the shows have little in common besides that. The show revolves around the Harmons, a family of three, who move from Boston to Los Angeles in order to reconcile past anguish. What the Harmons don't know is that the house they've moved into is haunted. But it's not haunted by Casperesque friendly ghosts -- it's haunted by demonic creatures. The creatures have a history of not only spooking the house's residents but also devouring them. After living in this house, family patriarch and psychiatrist, Ben, may need a shrink of his own.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

American Horror Story reins in its Grand Guignol excess for a softer touch in Delicate, refreshing the series' formula with a slow-burn chiller about the anxieties of pregnancy.

If this storyline ends up being about female friendship, it's a bizarre one, stripped of the usual intimacies. Go to Full Review

Pregnancy is not exactly an untapped experience within the horror genre, if anything it might be a little overtapped... but it gives a show obsessed with extravagant iconography a full playground at its disposal. Go to Full Review

If the best premieres sink their claws into a viewer, Delicate manages only a light scratch — sharp enough to leave an impression, but not to hook someone in. Go to Full Review

The absence of Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, and Lily Rabe - the three performers who have appeared the most in the franchise and who jumped ship in "Double Feature' - is noticeable, but the presence of Emma Roberts compensates. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

No matter how it plays out, the show is sure to strike a chord with all the loyal “AHF” fans, and those who are less devoted will probably still find much to keep them interested in the series’ signature gruesome-but-elegant aesthetic, no matter what. Go to Full Review

Scaling back the insanity for a simple, clean story will do wonders for Delicate. It's posh, creepy, and a needed shot in the arm for AHS. Go to Full Review

Nick G @Nickg711 Dec 7 Man Kim Kardashian can really not act. American horror story what did they do to you my boy. They massacred my boy. So sad See more Vagner S Nov 26 The idea of adapting a novel that recycles previously used concepts, such as a ‘devil seed’ trope, is poorly executed, with unlikable characters and a lack of charisma from the protagonists. Emma Roberts struggles to keep the plot engaging, but her performance is the only thing that works well in the season. See more Nicky A Nov 24 Not their worst season, but definitely far from the best. Story line was a bit weird and so was the pacing. This season is easy to forget. See more AM J Nov 20 This is what happens when Ryan Murphy isn't running or writing the show. Instead of using an original idea by Murphy, the audience is subjected to a poorly adapted mess based on the book "Delicate Condition" by Danielle Valentine. Originally a story about the perils of motherhood, bonds of friendship and love that inspires sacrifice, all interspersed with healthy doses of horror and supernatural elements. Here all of that context and meaning are stripped away to create D grade horror schlock that feels both nonsensical and entirely one dimensional. We get a long build up of mystery and questions with no answers most of the season only to have the last few episodes crammed with high speed events and twists of character that make absolutely no sense. Terribly paced, badly directed and the acting is wooden at best. Kardashian is a campy villain, who can do no better than portray her own reality show persona. Everyone else is given almost nothing of substance to work with and they struggle through the absurd plot points and laughable dialogue as best they can. In the end you're left with no resolution, only the question: what in the hell did I just watch? See more @em777 Nov 4 A painfully slow moving storyline where nothing progresses. KK's poor acting is the cherry on top of a truly unwatchable and forgettable show. See more Penguin Promotional S Nov 4 I'm greatly disappointed that AHS and it's creators felt they had to jump on the Kardashian Train of Narcissism in order to gain millennial viewership. As expected, Kardashian doesn't act and has zero range in the performance, aside from her constant use of the F-bomb and other garden variety expletives. It's just Kardashian playing Kardashian. Anything for a buck on both sides, I guess. Emma Roberts has done better work than this effort. Her scenes with Kardashian are annoying to watch because Kardashian tries way too hard to be the driving force in every scene. And yes..Peters,, Paulson and Lange are very much missed in this season.
