The fourth installment in the "CSI" franchise takes inspiration from the advanced technological work of a real cyberpsychologist named Mary Aiken. Avery Ryan heads the FBI's Cyber Crime Division, a unit at the forefront of solving illegal activities that live online and play out in the real world. While other agents search for criminals in the streets, Avery knows how technology allows people to hide in the shadows of the Internet while committing serious crimes, and she spends her time searching the deep recesses of the Web where anonymity protects, money is less-traceable, and almost anything imaginable is up for sale. What to Know

Critics Consensus

While stocked with impressive talent, CSI: Cyber fails to add anything truly new to the franchise, settling for a slightly modernized twist on the same typical crimefighting scenarios.

Robert Bianco USA Today It's as if the entire show were designed to send a subliminal message: "Watch or Die!" Which is, at least, a new flourish for the CSI team. It's just not a very good one. Mar 5, 2015 Full Review Margaret Lyons New York Magazine/Vulture While CSI: Cyber is functional, it's also a useless chore. Mar 5, 2015 Full Review Joanne Ostrow Denver Post It's all too familiar -- and a waste of an Academy Award winner. Mar 5, 2015 Full Review Natalia Marcos El Pais (Spain) CSI: Cyber is just another formulaic police procedural. Aug 5, 2020 Full Review Brad Oswald Winnipeg Free Press It's silly, quite frankly, in an insulting-your-intelligence kind of way. Rated: 2/5 Mar 17, 2015 Full Review Ken Tucker Yahoo! TV The chief problem with CSI: Cyber is its need to hype crimes into emergencies to which the Cyber team's reaction seems way out of proportion. Mar 12, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews

Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/21/23 Full Review Audience Member I love the show. I like the ideas how technology can change how crime can be done. Great Cast want more of this. I hope they have another 5 seasons and more. Tried to give 5 star and the system would only let me do 4.5. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Love the show!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Francisco S The dialogue between the characters isn't genuin, Patricia Arquette's wasn't a good choice, the show is cliched and repetitive, the narrative is in the most part of the time predictable and it isn't original. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member A poor TV show. Bad acting, scripting and overall performance of the cast make this a major miss in my opinion. While it has its moments, trying to be funny and emulate the success of shows like NCIS and limitless, it ultimately fails. The special effects are good, and the team behind it should be congratulated on their efforts on this train off the rails. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
